UAF faculty to showcase literary talents at reading

Joseph Holt, Gerri Brightwell, Kavelina Torres and Daryl Farmer will read from their works during an event on Sept. 21.

Faculty members from the University of 色视频下载 Fairbanks will showcase their diverse writing styles and genres at a reading from 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21.

The reading, sponsored by the Fairbanks Arts Association, will be in the Bear Gallery on the third floor of the 色视频下载 Centennial Center for the Arts at Pioneer Park, 2300 Airport Way.

The reading will feature a selection of poetry, prose and short stories from faculty members who offer UAF色视频下载檚 Master of Fine Arts program in creative writing: Gerri Brightwell, Daryl Farmer, Joseph Holt and Kavelina Torres.

Brightwell, a British author and professor of English at UAF, will present her novel 色视频下载淭urnback Ridge,色视频下载 which delves into themes of global warming and immigration.

Farmer, a UAF English professor who directs the MFA program, is known for his books 色视频下载淏icycling Beyond the Divide色视频下载 and 色视频下载淲here We Land.色视频下载

Holt, an assistant professor of English and author of 色视频下载淕olden Heart Parade,色视频下载 has received acclaim for his short stories in leading literary journals.

Torres, an assistant professor in UAF色视频下载檚 Department of Theatre and Film, contributes a unique perspective as an Indigenous writer from the North.
