Celebrate National Pollinators Week at Georgeson Botanical Garden

ItÉ«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ™s time to celebrate the birds and the beetles, the butterflies and the bees, and other animals that pollinate É«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ plants. 

National Pollinator Week is June 19-25, and Georgeson Botanical Garden is highlighting its exhibits explaining what these beneficial insects and animals do. É«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ 75% of all flowering plants need animal pollinators to reproduce, giving these species a critical role in food systems and the environment. And itÉ«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ™s not just insects É«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ” bats and birds are also important pollinators. 

The garden has a pollinator-friendly garden bed. Displays with pollinator information from the Smithsonian Institution and panels with images of local pollinating insects are placed around the garden.
