Youth In Governance
Welcome to Youth In Governance 2025!
É«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ 4-H Youth in Governance (aka "YIG" ) offers 4-H teens the opportunity to gain a better understanding of how government works while having a fun time with other youth from around the state. The focus is on É«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ's state government, with the opportunity to extend activities to include local governments and tribal governments. As part of É«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ YIG, participants will also learn about opportunities to head out of the state to other parts of our nation to learn more about how our government works.
YIG 2025 is open to all É«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ youth ages 14-18 during this school year. Youth do not have to be members of 4-H to participate, but should have some knowledge of 4-H in order to talk about it when asked about it. If you have any questions, please contact Marla Lowder mklowder@alaska.edu.
